Stem Cells

One of the most talked about topics in Health is stem cells.  A stem cell is a biological cell found in all multicellular organisms  that can renew itself and has the potential to produce specialized cells for various tissues of the body.  No other cell in the body has the natural ability to generate new cell types.  There are two main types of stem cells embryonic and adult.  Embryonic stem cells are derived from either aborted fetuses or fertilized eggs that are left over from in vitro fertilization.

“Adult stem cells are produced in the bone marrow and other tissues are the renew and repair system of our bodies and are not controversial.  The quality and quantity of these adult stem cells can be improved by optimal lifestyle and supplements.  The condition of our adult stem cell is a biomarker of aging and optimizing our adult stem cells can slow down or possibly reverse aging and disease processes.” - Dr. Ron Rontenberg MD

Adult stem cells are also found in children and in placentas and umbilical cords.
